**SPECIAL UPDATE** Honduras trip was Awesome!!
We had a wonderful time in Honduras. Len and Gail Waldrop and myself want to thank you to all of those who had a part in sending us. We were able to see many old friends and make some new ones as well. We had eighty Pastors and their wives attend our leadership conference. It was truly a blessing! After the anointing service we had people as the old preachers used to say, "stack up like cord wood"! Later that day we provided a luncheon and had some great fellowship. I received so many invitations to come back again.
Pastor Jesus Mejia and the Rock of Salvation church went with us most of the week. He has a great church and we have been privileged to work with him for many years now. Carlos, my interpreter was flawless as usual. He is getting very close to graduating with a theology degree. We have been sponsoring him for the entire time. It going to be a very proud day when Carlos graduates and moves into a church there in the Honduras!
I ministered in one church where I had been back in the late nineties. They stood up when I took the service and yelled out, "Bienvenidos Hermano Chocolate"! (welcome brother chocolate) I guess I need to explain... The first time I preached to them years ago I was trying to explain how much God loved them. I told them it did not matter that they were not rich or did not live in the USA. I said God loved them just as they are right there in Honduras. Then I said the words that have followed me ever since. "God loves you as much as I like chocolate candy!" Well, after all these years they still remember it. I was so humbled and touched by their show of love though I can tell you. I am glad that little illustration helped them to remember the amazing love of God. (I really do like chocolate candy)
We were able to get the equipment tagged and prepare to have some work done on the truck and the tent. Our friend Brother Jaime Betancourt is going to keep the tent up all summer and we are going to try to make periodic trips down there to minister. Praise the Lord!
We are planning a big meeting in May 2009. I will keep you posted. Once again I want to send a big thank you out to all of my partners. We love you so much!
Since 1997 we have gone again and again to carry the good news of Jesus Christ. The excitement of a tent coming to town is advertisement enough to pack out the tent the first service! Bro Len and Sis Gail Waldrop are always my traveling buddies. Len has been with us for over twenty years working for the kingdom. Len is a professional "tent man". But in addition to that he is a powerful preacher. God Has given us a great set up man with a burden for his country. Dr. Jaime Betancourt is a pediatrician and also an evangelist. Our Interpreter, Carlos Javier is just excellent. We have great time fishing for men! Please continue to pray for our work among these precious people in this beautiful country. I have posted some pictures from some of the recent trips. I will change them periodically.
